The BASIC coding language was designed to be easy for everyone to learn and program.
In April 1983 Clive Sinclair, one of Britain’s most famous inventors of all time, launched a small colour computer. From the start of his foray into computing Clive Sinclair recognized the importance of having an easy to learn and easy to use programming language, and that is why he plumped for BASIC. The version of Sinclair BASIC which came with the ZX Spectrum computer became known as Spectrum BASIC, and that is the version you will learn in this course from “Every Child Can Code”.
